Hope Is Rising

Have you ever had one of those lovely, pity parties?  Now, I love parties!  But a pity party not so much.  We all have those moments when the pity party planning committee comes knocking on the door of our heart.   Even David, the man after God's own heart heard their knock.  In Psalm 42 he has thrown wide the door and the planning committee has begun their work.  "My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" (Psalm 42:3 NASB)

But I love David's response!  He begins to ask himself what cause he truly has to despair, to be so downcast.  Sometimes talking to yourself is good!  The party planners are shown the door as David declares "Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence...The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night... (Psalm 42:5,8)

Hope rose up.  Salvation's song was the theme of his heart in the darkest hours.

I cling to this beautiful psalm.  It is a heartfelt expression of desperately needing to know that there is hope.  Such an encouragement when the pity party seeks an audience.

Beloved, whatever you may be facing whether its sickness, loss, depression, uncertainty- there is hope.  There is an all powerful God who loves you, who has only good things for you.  Our God never disappoints. Hope is Rising.
